Some dogs come to us needing more than a temporary stop on their journey—they need a place to belong for the rest of their lives.

Our Sanctuary Dogs are in loving, forever foster homes where they will remain under Ruff Start’s care for all of their days. Each of these dogs has a unique story. Some are in palliative care, some have medical or behavioural needs that require specialized support, and others have experienced hardships that make transition difficult. Whatever their past, our promise is the same: they will never be alone again.

Ruff Start fully supports our Sanctuary Dogs and their foster families by covering veterinary care, supplies, and any additional needs that arise. Our fosters provide the love, comfort, and stability—while we stand behind them every step of the way.

These dogs may not be available for adoption, but they are deeply loved, cherished, and finally safe.
