Medical Hold Dogs In Care
Some dogs come into our care needing a little extra time, support, and healing before they’re ready for their next chapter.
This page highlights our Medical Hold Dogs—those currently in foster homes while receiving ongoing veterinary care, recovering from surgery, or managing more complex medical needs. For many of these dogs, this is a temporary stop on their journey. With time, treatment, and love, they go on to make full recoveries and find their forever homes.
For others, their path looks a little different. In some cases, dogs may require lifelong or palliative care and will remain with us as sanctuary dogs, living out their days in the comfort and safety of a dedicated forever foster home. No matter the outcome, our commitment is the same: every dog receives the care, compassion, and dignity they deserve.
The cost of medical care can be significant—from diagnostics and surgeries to medications and ongoing treatments—but it’s made possible through the kindness and generosity of our community. Donations directly support these dogs and the care they rely on every day.
